Verification and freshness

Each changing field can carry its own status, source URL, fetch date, and season year. A page-level “updated” label is not used unless that field was checked.

  • Verified: the value was read from an official page.
  • Partly checked: the record was opened on an official page, and some fields are still unknown.
  • Uncertain: inherited from the 2025 directory and not re-checked.
  • Outdated: a newer official page contradicted the older note. The older note can remain visible as history.
  • Duplicate: two rows may describe one business. We flag shared websites instead of silently merging different addresses.
  • Invalid: the claim contradicted the official site and was removed, as with the Yorkville, Illinois placement of Wilkens.

During September, October, and November, operational fields on Chicago, New York, and Charlotte records should be reviewed every 7 days. Other records: every 14 days. Outside that window: every 90 days. Evergreen planning notes: yearly. A failed fetch must not replace a verified value with a guess.

There is no open-now status. Farm-gate coordinates are not stored, so distance from a visitor is not calculated. City-center coordinates are used only to sort city guides after a location request, and the result says it is a straight-line estimate.

The dates above are policy. This rebuild did not schedule a crawler. The next check is a manual or scripted fetch against the official URL, recorded on the field.
